Thorsten Johnsen Høgelie:   Born on May 30, 1816 at Høgelie farm in Gjerpen by parents John Thorstensen Kausanrød and Karen Kirstine Nielsdatter.
His father died Sept 14, 1829 and a probate was held on October 29. Heirs were the wife and children, Thorstein age 12, Niels age 9 and Anne age 3. Their uncle Jørgen Thorsteinsen Marker was appointed guardian. It is mentioned that the movables were very poor, but they owned a 14 year old horse, 2 cows by the name of Røselin and Kisteros and 6 sheep.
Thorsten married April 7, 1842 to Anne Thurine Halvorsdatter Gravelie. She was born Dec 22, 1815 on the farm Gravelie in Gjerpen by parents Halvor Eriksen Putten and Ane Torine Halvorsdatter. Halvor Eriksen died March 6,1842 and a probate was held on Putten April 9. Heir were his wife Anne Thurine and children, Gregorius age 17, Anne Turine, married to Thorsten Johnsen Kausanrød, Christine, age 25, and Ingeborg age 11.1/2.
The movables were valued at 47 spd and described as "utterly poor". They owned 1 red horse, ca 10 years old, 3 cows (Steinros, Ingeros and Golin) and 1 heifer.

Thorsten and Anne Thurine had the following children:
1. Anne Karine, born July 17, 1842 on Kausanrød farm.
2. John, born DEC 18, 1845 on Høgelie farm u/Rising.
