Marte Pedersdatter

Utreist med/Emigrated on: "SUPERB" to New York. Arrived July 2, 1849 with 121 passengers.

Utreist til/Emigrated to: Skoponong settlement, Palmyra, Jefferson County, Wisconsin

She was born ca 1820 and a servant maid with the family Halvor Christophersen Glende, who emigrated the same year.
In 1845 she was a maid at the house of teacher Hans Isaksen at Grini, and in 1835 she is 15 years old and a maid at joiner Niels Davidsen at Glenna. (Glenna is today's name for Glende)

I am not sure who was her parents, but she might be the girl who was norn Nov 17, 1820 at Brekkejordet outside Skien by Peder Johannesen Ingberg and Anne Kirstine Isaksdatter.

It is possible she followed Halvor Christophersen Glende to Palmyra in Jefferson Co., Wisconsin.

From Mike Enerson of Bloomington, Illinois, I have got the following:

Marthe Pedersdatter was a servant in the household of Halvor Christophersen
Glende when she emigrated. She was probably the daughter of Peder Johannesen
Ingberg and Anne Kirstine Isaksdatter, born 17 Nov 1820. Peder Johannesen
was in the jægerkorps, and was probably not from Gjerpen.

Marthe Pedersdatter may have married Isak Olsen in Wisconsin. He was the
son of Ole Isaksen Holm from Gjerpen. Isak Olsen emigrated in 1843 and
settled in Strongs Prairie township, Adams County, Wisconsin. Marthe
Pedersdatter emigrated on the same ship which carried Ole Isaksen Holm to
America.

Marthe Pedersdatter was a servant in the household of Halvor Christophersen
Glende in the 1835 census. For the 1845 census, she was probably a servant
in the household of the schoolteacher Hans Isaksen, who lived u. Grini Søndre.
