Skattelistene er avskrift av Skien Byregnskap
som starter i året 1630 og går fram til 1643. Da er det et stort tomrom
fram til 1660-tallet. Dessverre er det feil i filmingen og mange av listene
er meget uskarpe og lar seg ikke tyde. Jeg har forsøkt å tyde det som er
mulig. Noen av listene dekker også områder som Porsgrunn, Brevik, Langesund
og Kragerø.

The tax-lists are transcribed
from the City Accounts of Skien, which start in
the year 1630 and continue up to 1643. Then there is nothing more to find
until the 1660's. Unfortunately parts of the micro-films are very much out
of focus and are not legible. I have tried to transcribe as much as
possible. Some of these lists also cover the surrounding district, like Porsgrunn, Brevik, Langesund and Kragerø.
